Cut the Cheese
To “Cut the Cheese” means to break wind, in other words, to fart.
Often used as an exclamation upon being overwhelmed by a particularly wicked smell.
Closely related to the slightly more pompous expression “Cut the Fromage”.
Example usage:
“Jeepers, who cut the cheese? I’m about to die from the smell!”.
