    Ig Nobel Prize

The Ig Nobel Prize is awarded annually as a counterweight to the Nobel Prizes to honour research that is particularly inane or obvious.

For example, one of last year’s winners received the prestigious award for their research paper titled “Leaning to the Left makes the Eiffel Tower seem Smaller”.

PSYCHOLOGY PRIZE: Anita Eerland and Rolf Zwaan [THE NETHERLANDS] and Tulio Guadalupe [PERU, RUSSIA, and THE NETHERLANDS] for their study “Leaning to the Left Makes the Eiffel Tower Seem Smaller” – See more at: http://www.improbable.com/ig/winners/#sthash.JCbahZZX.dpuf
The Ig Nobel Prizes honor achievements that first make people laugh, and then make them think. The prizes are intended to celebrate the unusual, honor the imaginative — and spur people’s interest in science, medicine, and technology. – See more at: http://www.improbable.com/ig/#sthash.IHMAF46a.dpuf
