    Xanthippe

    A bad-tempered, mean-spirited woman.

Believed to originate from the wife of Socrates, who was called Xanthippe and had a reputation for a bad temper.

Socrates allegedly once said: “By all means marry; if you get a good wife, you’ll be happy. If you get a bad one, you’ll become a philosopher”.

    Example usage:

“Don’t date that Xanthippe, you’ll regret it after 5 minutes!”.
